Nikon has grabbed a piece of rubber with just a little more grip. This makes the camera easy with one-handed operation. All that is not really what you want, when you merrily does begin to zoom. As we so often see in these super zoom cameras, the device you better put on a tripod when fully zoomed pictures you take. Although the P90 is equipped with sensor-shift image stabilization, this technique can not prevent your plates get blurry when you zoom the camera in full vibrate slightly late.
Finding and experiment

Image quality
Two elements are fearing the worst in this area. On the one hand, the 24x zoom, and in particular the lack of precision of its assembly, which hardly seems compatible with the precision required by a sensor as dense on the other hand, the sensor itself, a 12 megapixel 1 / 2.3 “which features a little too reminiscent of some recent disappointments. In the end, so it’s only half-surprised that even the lowest sensitivity, it is difficult to obtain a sharp image, the optical suffering from a certain lack of homogeneity – the quilted fall strongly periphery, especially at wide angle. A major emphasis, probably aimed at giving punch to images on other occasions by the strong contrasts the appearance of halos around dark objects – which, telephoto, are overgrown with purple fringe. The sensitivity, for its part, is consistent with our experiences of this type of sensor: noise appears in the shadows at ISO 100, it becomes clearly visible at 400 ISO and frankly embarrassing to 800 iso, with a bonus smoothing important drowning while detail. The device will not be at ease in dark environments … nor, indeed, outside where the highlights are burned very quickly – this is the case with many compact and bridges, though.
Video Quality
The video is in VGA at 30 frames per second and requires no special comment: the picture quality is acceptable, but no more, and the sound is very much lower than that of a device designed for – not talk about camcorders, the Panasonic TZ7 is a good example. In addition, the optical zoom is locked, leaving room for a very limited digital zoom. Three other bridges specifications appeared very close together this Nikon P90. We compared them side by side in video, particularly with regard to their objectives.

For some time, Nikon returns to the segment of compact advanced. After the Coolpix P5100 and P50 announced a year ago, here that recidivism with a model even more interesting since, modes and settings it adds a very valuable function of GPS: the Coolpix P6000.
The receiver is not done to help find its way but to automatically trigger photos by adding location information (latitude and longitude) to the classic data Exifs (date taken, camera model, etc.). Once back home, the possessor of such a device may rely on such data to show photos on an online map like Google Earth. Nikon also offers a solution owner called my Picturetown for storing and sharing photos. This information will provide additional place to the user a new way – living – to share his photographs with his family to which it may offer to make a virtual tour in its wake. A compact which incorporates a GPS receiver (that is the first one to our knowledge), is even more interesting than external modules making the same services still lack reliability and weigh on the overall budget.
